I have an appointment with a new Ob-gyn tomorrow. I had to switch doctors because we moved out of state. It will be my first time to go to this doctor here and I hope she is nice and competent. I called in for an appointment weeks ago but she apparently is so booked that I had to wait a long time to be seen by her. I will know for sure tomorrow if she is worth the wait

…feeling miserable right now. My ulcer is acting up and although I already took medicine for it, I still feel awful. I tried to take a nap earlier but the little man did not leave me alone. He poked my eyes, kissed my forehead, jumped on the bed, and did every thing he could think of. I had to give that up and got up before I get a headache. The husband said we will get something to eat which means we might go out to eat but I do not know what to eat or if I can eat anything at all without making what I have worse. Life! I hope this uncomfortable feeling will go away.

that baby is a girl!

We told the little man he is going to be a big brother weeks ago. I asked him what he wants for a sibling whether a boy or a girl and he said a boy and a girl. Hah! We still do not know the gender since I am only three months pregnant but this morning, out of the blue, the little man said “that baby is a girl!” with certainty. We were not talking about it, he just blurted it out. We hope he is right though. We want a baby girl so much. Maybe we will get lucky and have one, who knows? If it is a boy we will also welcome him like we will a girl. A child is a blessing regardless of gender.

car problems

We have a problem with one of our cars. It is old and needs a little work done but the husband cannot work on it and we do not have the money to bring it to a good mechanic. You see, our car needs a break job really bad. The husband is cautious to drive it anymore and keeps on saying we need to bring the car to a shop to be fixed. Either that or he said buy a new car. He wants a truck for a new car and he has his sights set on a Chevrolet Silverado which I don’t think we can afford at the moment. Monthly payments will be a burden right now what with our finances as tight as it is.

If only we have not moved, he has friends who would have been able to help him fix our car but sadly we did. If we make a trip to our old address just so a friend can fix our car it will be like bringing our car to a Dallas auto repair which means it is impossible. We will be out of a lot of money either way. Hays, I hope the husband is right when he said he can feel we are going to win the lottery one of these days so we could buy a new car without any problems. I wish!

With the garden lately. The garden which has been giving us all kinds of produce that we do not know what to do with them. We have given away a lot of squash and a few corn and the squash are still producing like crazy. We might have to sell some of these one of these days. We are still waiting for my eggplants to get big and the tomatoes and peppers as well. My sweet potato patch is going wild and it won’t be long and I will have lots of tops to harvest and make salads of. Even the lemon grass that were puny when I planted on the ground are now thick and green that each plant look so pretty. I may have to give away some before the cold months set in.

My father has retired from his job at 61. He was a teacher and he could have worked until he is 65 but he decided to quit now while he still can enjoy his retirement money. He got a pretty sum which he has divided into expenses and savings. I would love to help them budget their money but I am far away and so I am letting them handle their finances and hope they will be smart about it. They already paid off all loans they had, bought materials for the renovation of their house, and stashed money in a savings account for “emergency” use. I joked about my part of the deal but I am not sure if I will get any, lol. It does not really matter as long as their needs are provided for and they are happy. The best thing about this is that I don’t have to send them money anymore. Not as long as my brother who is working as a seaman will continue giving them monthly allowance and they have their money in the bank. I will only send them money on special occasions. So, yay for me

disappointment

Today I got more disappointed with one of the husband’s older kids. This particular kid needs a lesson in respect and responsibility. He blames his bad decisions on his imminent divorce, signing all his rights to his son, and everything else but him. Right. He is not to blame. You see, he made his wife’s life miserable to a point where she gave up (she is not blameless either) and left him. He signed away his rights and responsibility to his kid because he does not want to pay support (even after his father told him not to). He spends his time partying and getting broke. And when somebody stole whatever valuable from his apartment because he left his key under his floor mat in an apartment complex at that, he says that life is so hard on him and that everything is all messed up. Who is to blame? He gets all emotional and yells and cries like a lunatic that I really seriously want to slap him senseless so he will straighten up. So it is alright to spend your money like there is no tomorrow because you cannot see your kid which is what you wanted in the first place? Whatever happened to the proclamations of “I have never felt so relieved in my life”? I am afraid to be around him when he starts his drama because I am liable to tell it to his face that he is a no good sob. I am tired of his act. If he does not straighten up I don’t know what is going to happen to him. Heck, he might even blame us for not stopping him from going down now even if we have tried to only he does not listen. I hope he just moves in with his mom. Maybe she can put some sense into him.

I have been lazy lately. The house needs a thorough clean up but I am not doing it. I don’t have the energy to do such thing at the moment. I am trying hard not to notice that the kitchen floor needs a good mopping, the living room carpet needs to be shampooed, and that the bathroom needs to be sanitized again. I used to do the latter twice a week but since it got cold I only do it once a week anymore. And there is the stove which needs a good scrubbing to get rid of the grease and dirt. Somebody needs to hire a helper to clean so she can tell that helper what to do to make the house livable. Who am I kidding? I need to get up and do all these. Hays!
